Simple Tips To Maintain Your Computer
By ajayshah2005
1. At first it is necessary for you to install any antivirus software in your computer. You can find any antivirus software through internet. I recommend using Microsoft Security Essentials. Do not install more than one antivirus software in your computer.
2. You should regularly update your antivirus software if you have internet in your computer. Updating it will make it more powerful to fight against viruses.
3. You can go to Start Button>select Run option> type “dxdiag” in the type box> press enter if you want to check or maintain your graphics properties.
4. Do not keep your pictures, saved documents, videos etc. in your system drive(C :) because if your computer’s system drive is formatted, then all your data will be lost permanently.
5. You can use utility software known as Tune Up Utilities if you want to speed up your computer system and make it function smoothly.
6. You can use some of the tools present in the system tools option. If you want to use system tools, click on Start>go to Programs >Accessories and then you can find the system tools option.
7. Scan your Computer with antivirus software twice a week.
8. Do not download the files from the websites which are not authorized or safe.
9. You should delete the Cookies and Temporary Internet Files to keep your computer more safe and maintained. If you want to delete them, simply go to Start> select Run option>type “%temp%“>press enter and a window appears where all the cookies and Temporary Internet Files are stored.
10. Do not keep too many shortcuts on your desktop screen or it will slow down your computer’s response rate.

Some of the tips are really useful. However, malware and spyware pose threats too. Normal Antivirus wouldn't be able to "catch" malware and spyware. Therefore, anti malware/spyware is also essential to have.
